Web ordering continues to be a hit

Only six months since its launch and Pedigree’s website has already been declared a hit by many retailers. After a successful test launch in May 2008 with a small number of selected retailers the site was made available to all Pedigree customers. Since then the number of users have steadily increased week by week and in the week ending 6th February we hit a new record with over 7% of orders by value being taken over the web. Improvements have continued to be made to the site based on feedback from customers along with a continued programme of enhancements we have been working on with the software’s developers. The key to the success of the web ordering system is the robust platform on which it is based. The web ordering is fully integrated into our stock management system so all product information comes from one place. Our telesales team can even see orders being placed live on their screens which allows us to support customers who may need help using the system or are simply not able to get to a computer to hit the SUBMIT button on the order, we can do it for them.
Web ordering is FREE to all customers and it doesn’t need any CDs or software to run, so even if it is not effective to place orders via the web it can be used as an online catalogue. In addition to showing customers nett prices it also displays product images, product information, barcodes, new products, clearance lines and special offers.
