Live Fish & Plants
Using experience gained over many years our aim is to provide a consistent supply of healthy, high quality, essential coldwater and tropical fish and plants, all available for next day delivery nationwide. Enhancing our offer, we also provide a constantly evolving list of rare and unusual tropical species together with high quality Koi and fancy goldfish, all available from stock or via consolidated shipments.
Tropical
We carry an extensive range of community fish sourced from a variety of suppliers, providing both top quality and excellent value for money. In addition we constantly introduce other high quality and unusual specimens to complement our list. Fresh supplies of tropical plants are flown in weekly from Singapore.
Coldwater
We stock a complete range of Goldfish, Comets and Orfe and also an extensive range of fancy coldwater fish and sturgeon. We also stock a range of Marginal Plants and Lilies.
Koi Carp
We have been a Mag Noy appointed distributor since 1991. Mag Noy consists of 5 Kibbutz who pool their knowledge and expertise to provide a comprehensive variety of cold water fish, including very high quality Koi in sizes from 2” to 22” Goldfish and a fine selection of tropical fish.
The Mag Noy system of co-operation ensures consistently high quality Koi with good availability throughout the season. Orders to Mag Noy are shared between members who ensure a continuous and reliable source of supply. Each Kibbutz constantly liase with each other to ensure all fish are housed and supplied in the optimum condition.
All Mag Noy Koi pass through a meticulous vaccination programme, making them naturally resistant to the K.H.V virus. If you would like to read the full details regarding Mag Noy’s approach to the K.H.V virus and vaccination protocol, please contact us and we will be happy to forward these to you.
In addition to Mag Noy Koi we also bring in a selection of smaller Koi from Thailand which are both good quality and very well priced, helping to ensure we maintain availability across all the main sizes.
Our fish house
Our tropical and coldwater fish house has been developed and purpose built to our exact requirements, utilising the latest equipment and welfare practices to ensure all of our livestock are housed and supplied in their optimum condition.
The coldwater facility has ten recirculation systems, each with a capacity of 14,000 litres of water. Each system is designed to handle large quantities of fish yet be highly efficient, simple in operation and low maintenance. Temperature and humidity are controlled through an air recirculation system designed specifically for the coldwater area. Individual systems can also be temperature controlled to ensure new arrivals settle into their new environment quickly and with minimal stress.
Our tropical facility has over 600 individually filtered aquariums plus a centralised system of larger tanks with a capacity of 11,000 litres. This facility provides a temperature and humidity controlled environment together with automatic aquarium top-up from a pre-aged water storage supply, all designed with minimum maintenance in mind to enable our experienced staff to focus their time and effort on maintaining a stress and disease free environment for the short time that fish pass through the facility.
Weekly Stock List
We provide a Weekly Stock list giving up-to-date information on all tropical and coldwater fish available together with details of current special offers we are running. If you would like to receive updated lists weekly or monthly please contact our Customer Services Team on 0115 982 3900 or e-mail . The stock lists can be sent to you via fax, e-mail or post.
Delivery / Collection
We are able to offer a variety of delivery solutions to suit your individual requirements, including delivery via our dry goods network or by courier. If you would prefer to collect your fish direct from our fish house in Nottingham then please contact us to make an appointment. As well as collecting your fish we would be delighted to give you a tour of our aquatic facility where you can see our extensive range of fish available, including new arrivals which are coming in all the time and also ask any questions of our experienced and knowledgeable staff.
Consolidated Imports
We are also happy to arrange consolidated shipments from over 22 countries for tropical, marine and coldwater fish/Koi. These can be collected by you direct from the airport, our own fish house in Nottingham or we will deliver direct to your door subject to our normal delivery routes.
Handpick Tours
A trip to Israel where you can handpick your own fish is not only an ideal way to shop from an extensive range of Koi from 5 different farms, but also provides an interesting insight and background knowledge to this fascinating hobby. As a bonus, you can see a country with a long history and beautiful sights. The tours normally take a total of 4 days, 2 days visiting the farms to select Koi, ornamental and tropical fish and 2 days taken up with travelling to and from the UK. Your fish are shipped back to the UK the following week. Handpick tours can be arranged in November and February/March subject to minimum spend criteria, please do not hesitate to contact us for further details and to reserve a place.
